The idea to create Sweden’s first gin distillery became real when Master Distiller Jon Hillgren and his family moved to an 1800-century farm in the village of Dala, just outside Härnösand in Ångermanland. Today it is a passionate family runned company. Hernö Gin was the most awarded gin at The Gin Masters 2013, which was arranged in London in the end of June 2013. The Gin Masters has fast become one of the most respected and high profile trade competitions in the industry, attracting vast amounts of entries from leading brands all over the world. This year 49 gin brands participated. Hernö Gin was awarded two Gold medals and one Silver, and Hernö Navy Strength Gin was awarded two Master, the Master medal being awarded for exceptional Gins.
